In my About section I talk about a "growing" plethora of issues.
This journey is not just to overcome and avoid those, it's also to overcome the already existing and long term issues I have.
It is because of these that this journey is not going to be easy, there will be challenges to face.
I hope one day I can overcome them all, there are some that I may be stuck with but some may be lessened with better health. Some are just part of life, like glasses and braces.
My issues from head to toe;
Head - Headaches/Migraines
Eyes - I wear glasses! Yay!
Mouth - I had braces, I now have a permanent plate behind my bottom teeth.
Skin - I have adult acne from my PCOS
Face - I have mild hirsutism from my PCOS
Neck - I have lost the natural curve in my cervical spine. This adds to my headaches and migraines (I have been hospitalised twice). It is uncertain how this came about. I have taken serious actions to fix this: Cortisone injections directly into my neck, and when they didn't work I tried Radiofrequency Neurotomy directly into the joints in my neck. Both of these have risks, both are really expensive and both didn't work.
Shoulders - I broke my shoulder when I was 12 (fell off a horse). It is thought that this contributes highly to my neck and rib issues.
Forearms/Wrists - I have ganglion cysts in both my hands. Most likely arising from repetitive actions of computer work. I have also had Cortisone injections on my left side. This resulted in some improvement but not enough to justify the high costs. This means that my forearms start to really hurt as the muscles work too hard to support my hands and wrists and as a result I now have really weak wrists. I hope with Yoga that they will naturally strengthen and sort themselves out.
Ribs - For the past year my ribs ache.
Stomach/Esophagus - I have a hiatus hernia which means I need to take medication daily to stop stomach fluid traveling up my esophagus and causing me pain.
Stomach - I had a lap band emplaced in 2006 but decided to take it out in 2011 due to complications and the unhappy affect it was having on my lifestyle. Because of this I can't eat certain foods.
Lower back - I never fully recovered from twinges and a bad sprain I received in 2011.
Glutes - I have an inflamed piriformis muscle. It is uncertain whether the numbness in my left foot is caused by this or my lower back not being healed.
Knees - I have Chondromalacia Patella tendonitis in both knees from a Work Cover injury when I was 20. I now can't stand for a prolonged period of time without pain. This is one I hope to lessen with better health and lighter body weight.
Inner Thighs - I have Hidradenitis suppurativa on both my inner thighs. I can I get cysts the size of golf balls that are really painful and make it difficult to walk, wear underwear or jeans, etc.
Left foot - When I walk briskly for 30 minutes or more my left foot goes completely numb before pins and needles kick in. There have been multiple theories about this. I don't want to go to the same expensive lengths I went to for my neck. I hope this too will fix itself with better health and lighter body weight. I also hope that Raphael's treatments will help.
Right ankle - The most recent addition, how can we forget my recovering sprain from the quad bike incident!
Feet - One of my newest additions. Take note girls this can happen to any of us at any time. Cheap, poorly made, or just flat shoes are the cause of my plantar fasciitis (no more Novo shoes girls!). I now have orthotics in both shoes as I didn't want this slowly recovering injury to affect my being a "tourist"! This is getting better over time. I use a golf ball to massage my feet every morning before I put shoes on.
